Low-Cost Budget Airlines Flying to Genève Cointrin Aéroport / Ski Resorts
Geneva Airport (GVA) is used by low-cost budget airlines for cheap flights from the UK, Europe, and the USA with easy connections to Swiss and French Alpine ski resorts.

Geneva Airport (Genève-Cointrin Aéroport) straddles the Swiss-French border just minutes from downtown Geneva. In recent years, Geneva Airport seems to have bucked the trend and showed increased numbers in flights and passengers. Many low-cost airlines fly here and Geneva Airport (GVA) is an important base of budget airline Ryanair as well as local airline Baboo. Most flights to Geneva are from European destinations but many cities further afield in the Middle East and even the USA (Washington and New York) also have direct flights.
Many flights to Geneva Airport (GVA) are seasonal with a huge increase in the number of flights and destinations served during the winter ski season. Geneva Airport is convenient for travelers to many Swiss ski resorts while it is often also more convenient for winter sport resorts in France than local French airports.

Public Transportation from Salzburg and Vienna to the UNESCO-Listed Town
Transportation to UNESCO World Heritage listed Hallstatt on the Hallstätter See Lake in Austria is easy by train or bus from Vienna or a day trip from Mozart-town Salzburg.

Hallstatt is a picture-perfect small village clinging to the rocks and a narrow strip of land between the crystal-clear water of the Hallstätter See Lake and the impressive Dachstein Mountains in the Salzburger Land region of Austria. Hallstatt is inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list for the prehistoric Hallstatt civilization that originated in the region and for the salt mines of the Salzkammergut. However, the natural beauty of the area is as much an attraction for the visitors that flock here on vacation as well as day trips from Salzburg.
Driving to Hallstatt is the easiest way to reach this small town. It is a very pleasurable drive along safe and well-maintained country roads and at times it feels like driving inside a postcard. Public transportation is somewhat slow but not particularly cumbersome with traveling times from Salzburg around two hours while Vienna (Wien) is around four hours away. Many day-trip tours and excursions to Salzburg are offered from Salzburg and well worth considering for the ease of transportation.
