The Michelin red guide Nederland / Netherlands 2010 of top hotels and restaurants reviews 1,216 establishments in the Netherlands and awarded Michelin stars to 91 restaurants. Although most reviewed establishments are in Amsterdam and the provinces of North Holland and South Holland, all parts of the Netherlands are covered with smaller towns featuring very well amongst the list of top-rated star restaurants. Maastricht in Limburg does particularly well with many top gourmet restaurants listed.

The Michelin red guide for the Netherlands 2010 features 1,216 establishments including 655 restaurants and 561 hotels. Although Dutch food does not generally feature high on most gourmets wish lists, Michelin clearly thinks that many restaurants in the Netherlands are worthy of Michelin stars.
The Michelin red guide Nederland / Netherlands 2010 Hotels and Restaurants is completely bilingual with all reviews written in both Dutch and English. Maps of many town centers are useful even in an age of internet map and satellite navigation systems. Michelin also adds parking information to the maps, something too many travel guides ignore.
Top Michelin Star Gourmet Restaurants in the Netherland
In the Michelin Nederland / Netherlands 2010 red guide, Michelin stars were awarded to 91 restaurants. The two Michelin three-star restaurants in the Netherlands are Oud Sluis in Sluis and De Librije in Zwolle, neither town is generally known outside the region and neither is in the most-visited provinces South or North Holland either.
One restaurant was added to the list of two-star restaurants in the Netherlands to bring the total to 14. Amsterdam, Haarlem, Maastricht, and Rotterdam sport two two-star restaurants each.
In the one-star category, the Netherlands experienced “star inflation” with 11 new restaurants added (or promoted) to bring the total to 75 one-star restaurants in the Netherlands. Amsterdam and Den Haag (The Hague) each have five one-star restaurants while Maastricht has four. Zwolle has one – Librije’s Susje (Librije’s Sister) to go with the three-star establishment.
The number of Bib Gourmand restaurants – restaurants that serves an excellent three-course menu for under €35 – has increased to 93 with 17 new additions.
