Luxury riverboat cruises are a wonderfully convenient way to travel Europe. German rivers including the Rhine, Moselle, Main, Danube, and Elbe see many luxury multiple day riverboat cruises on cruise lines including Peter Deilmann, Viking River Cruises, Tauck, Amadeus Waterways, Arosa, and others. Cruises are available year round although spring, summer, and autumn are the most popular seasons to cruise German rivers.
When comparing prices bear in mind that not all internet reservation services can book all saving discounts, e.g. discounts for children or major anniversaries. Do compare rates and use a traditional travel agent if necessary to secure the best deals.
Note: Peter Deilmann will suspend riverboat cruises from the 2010 season.

Low-cost airlines have cheap tickets and low airfares for flights to Dresden Airport (DRS) from German cities and the Mediterranean. Lufthansa will introduce direct flights from Dresden to London-Heathrow from spring 2010 to provide the first direct flights for several seasons from Dresden to British (UK) airports.
Connecting flights are available from Dresden Airport (DRS) to around 400 destinations in more than 100 countries but the number of non-stop flights and destinations are far more limited. Cheap flights from Flughafen Dresden go mostly south to the larger Mediterranean region where Germans enjoy their holidays. However, numerous flights are available from the capital of Saxony to German airports and other West European cities.
Lufthansa flies from Dresden to London Heathrow so British travelers are no longer forced to fly via Berlin Airports. Dresden Airport is also very convenient for travelers to Meißen, home of Meissen porcelain. »»»Continue reading…

However, the discovery of the production secrets of porcelain came totally by accident. It was in Saxony, under the orders to produce real gold, that porcelain was first produced in Europe.
