Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin

The Alte Nationalgalerie was the third museum on the island and opened in a neo-classical temple-like building in 1876. It is still the home of the national art collection, although the collection is now so large that several buildings in Berlin are used to display the paintings and sculptures. In the Alte Nationalgalerie see the collection of 19th-century paintings and sculptures including Impressionists and German romanticism.
