Public transportation from Frankfurt Hahn Airport to these cities is now far more complicated than it has been for years. Trier may be reached in two hours via Bullay (bus and train) or three hours via Koblenz (bus and train) but only a limited number of connections are possible every day. Check bus and train timetables at German Railways / Deutsche Bahn — the options are fairly dismal. Private airport shuttle services are a sane but pricey alternative.

The bus services to Frankfurt (via Mainz) and to Koblenz are the most likely to operate with trains from these cities available to all parts of Germany. However, even these bus services are limited to the arrival and departure times of the few flights. Renting a car, taxi, or transfer shuttle from Hahn may be very expensive.

Buying Tickets for the Flibco Bus from Frankfurt-Hahn to Trier and Luxembourg
Bus tickets to Frankfurt Hahn Airport is cheapest when bought online from flibco.com. Tickets are priced similarly to low-cost airline fares – cheaper when demand is low and for advance bookings. If space is available on the bus, tickets may also be bought directly from the driver but at a higher price. If a bus is missed, tickets become invalid but Flibco will usually allow free travel on the next bus if space is available. Ask before buying a new ticket.
Flibco Airport Shuttle Bus online fares from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport are around €13 to Trier and €20 to Luxembourg. Deals as cheap as €5 is available for some early online reservations. The number of tickets available at the lowest fare is limited – the key here is advance reservations.
