Thorvaldsen Perseus and Andromeda

Bertel Thorvaldsen – Perseus and Andromeda

Perseus saved Andromeda after killing the sea monster by showing it the head of Medusa that he had cut off earlier. It has lost none of its power – Perseus carries it covered by cloth in his left hand.

On display in the Alte Nationalgalerie on Berlin’s Museum Island.
