The Madonna of the Idea is a masterly work of Michelino da Besozzo. It dates back to the first half of the 15th century and is carried each year on the occasion of Candlemas on 2 February. The panel is painted on both sides and depicts respectively the Madonna Enthroned and Child and the Presentation at the Temple.
