Western Windows in Chartres Cathedral

Lancet windows under the west rose window are the oldest in Chartres Cathedral. These date from 1145 and lit up the original Romanesque church, which explain their unusual large size for a Gothic church western facade. There were restored after the fire while the rose is the oldest of the three rose windows in the cathedral and dates from around 1215. It shows the Last Judgment.
