Befehl Nr 95

Befehl Nr 95 on display in the DB Museum (German Railways) in Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Germany.

Order Nr 95 from the Soviet Military Administration, 1946 — an immediate start with the change to steam power. The Soviets ripped up electric railway networks and other equipment was taken to the USSR as war reparations.

The map shows railways in the Soviet Zone (later East Germany / GDR / DDR). Of importance are the two bottom lines of the explanation (Zeichenerklärung): second rail removed (from double line sections) and complete removal of the entire railway line.
