Stained Glass Windows in Milan Cathedral

The outsized dimensions and the Gothic architecture of the Milan Duomo allowed for larger windows than are generally found in Italian churches. The Duomo has over 164 large windows, of which 55 are historiated, as a pauper’s Bible, using over 3,000 characters. Up to 144 individual scenes are possible in some windows.
