Dürer The Portrait of Hieronymus Holzschuher with protection panel in the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin.
The wooded panel could slide in front of the painting to protect it, and this portrait was thus probably not hung on a wall, which explains its excellent condition. It bears the coat of arms of the Holzschuher and Münzer families, the Münzers being Holzschuher’s in-laws.
