The Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen has the lifework of the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvalsen on display. He was the most famous classical sculptor of the early nineteenth century. At the end of his life, he returned to Copenhagen from Rome and donated all his models to this purpose-built museum. Many original statues are also on display.
