Frederiksberg Castle to the north of Copenhagen is the largest Renaissance palace in Denmark and Scandinavia. It is built on three islands in a small lake. The Neptune Fountain in front of the castle is a 19th-century copy – the original early 17th century fountain was carted off to Sweden in 1659 as war bounty.
