The plaster model of Ganymede and the Eagle of Jupiter is also in the Thorvaldsens Museum — in the back corner of the upper floor. these models are dirty with soot, as they were working models used for carving marble versions or the casting of bronzes. They were stored in the workshop and became black with smoke and soot, which were not a problem as they were never intended for sale or to be displayed to the public.
