Genetically Modified Mermaid in Copenhagen

The Little Mermaid (Det Lille Havfrue) (1913) by Edvard Eriksen (1876-1959) is the most famous sculpture in Copenhagen. Not far away is the Genetically Modified Mermaid (Den Genmodificerede Havfrue), which is part of a larger “Genetically Modified Paradise” (Det Genmodificerede Paradis) sculpture group by Bjørn Nørgaard (2000) at Dahleruos Torv off Pakhuskaj. Further statues in this group include Adam, Eve, the Madona, Christ, Mary Magdalen, the Holy Trinity, and the pregnant man. During much of the day, the DFDS Oslo ferry forms the backdrop.
