Fortuna Bemalte Schuetzenscheibe

Fortuna Bemalte Schuetzenscheibe in the Hällisch-Fränkisches Museum in Schwäbisch Hall

A whole floor in the Hällisch-Fränkisches Museum in Schwäbisch Hall is dedicated to the museum’s collection of around 200 painted target shooting shields (Bemalten Schützenscheiben) — the largest collection in Europe.

Here a target from 1829 with Fortuna – a popular image from Albrechts Dürer’s famous etching “Das große Glück” – floating over a painting of Hall.
