Havelberg Viewed from the Dom

The island on which the historic center of Havelberg is located viewed from the Dom. The small bridge crosses the canal that made this previous peninsula an island for easier defense in the middle ages. The Havel River may be seen on the far left. The confluence of the Havel and the Elbe is near Havelberg with a more direct canal providing navigable access to Germany’s longest river.
