The mostly golden mosaic with a cross at the center that covers the entire dome is at 500 m2 the largest in Europe outside Istanbul. This amazing mosaic has more than 1400 different color tints. The slight damage was caused by a grenade at the end of the Second World War — it may be seen here at three o’clock in the ring of writing.
