Delftware Flower Pyramids

Delftware Flower Pyramids

This spectacular pair of flower pyramids are the crowning glory of the Delftware collection in the Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

Only three other pairs and one single piece in this iconic form are known to be still in existence. Flower pyramids literally and figuratively mark the high point of the production of the Delft potteries. Each spouted segment fits perfectly into the next, ensuring that the stalk of each
individual flower had water.

Delft, no mark, attributed to Het Moriaanshooft pottery,Tinglazuuraardewerk, 1685-1690
