A rare treat — Botticelli’s Venus on a temporary visit to the Cranach room in the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin. Usually, Cranach’s Fountain of Youth in Hall III is flanked by two of his Venus and Amor paintings. However, during maintenance work in the Italian galleries, Botticelli’s Venus, usually in hall XVIII, was temporarily hung in place of a Cranach.
