The works Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, driven by Sterling Moss and Denis Jenkinson, won the 1955 Mille Miglia race from Brescia to Rome and back. Car 722 did an average speed of 158 km/h – a pace never beaten. Unfortunately, the car is in the Mercedes Benz Museum in Stuttgart and not in Brescia.
