Lion’s Mound at Waterloo (1)

July 6, 2014 by Henk Bekker

Leeuw van Waterloo

The Lion’s Mound marks the spot where the Prince of Orange was injured during the Battle of Waterloo (18 June 1815). It is the largest of the sights to see at the site of the Battle of Waterloo near Brussels in Belgium.

It is 226 steep steps to the top of the tumult from where visitors can enjoy a splendid view of the battlefield, which has returned to normal farmland so there really isn’t that much to see.
