Cameroon Throne

November 25, 2021 by Henk Bekker

A royal throne from Bamum in Cameroon.

A royal throne from Bamum in Cameroon. It was made ca 1880. The red Provenienz on the information board indicates that much more explanation is done in the new museum regarding the provenance of items on display. This throne was gifted to Kaiser Wilhelm in 1908 after years of negotiations but of course, debate continues on how much force was used or threatened in the process.
