The Galgentor is the only gate to Rothenburg open to drivers at busy times (and then only for those with hotel reservations or other permissions to drive into the old town center). Its real name is actually Würzburger Tor but as the gallows (Galgen) were nearby the impression they’ve left survived long after their use ceased in the mid-18th century.
