Stadhuis and Cheese Market in Gouda

Gouda Town Hall and Cheese Market

On summer Thursdays, a show cheese market is staged at the back of the Goudse stadhuis. It adds even more color to the huge market square and draw tourists. The red and white shutters and the red and white flag with golden stars are emblems of Gouda. The balcony was traditionally the setting for executions (last one was in 1860).
