The first German submarine

The first German submarine built by WIlhelm Bauer for the Schleswig-Holstein army in 1850. The plan was for the submarine to secretly attach an incendiary device to Danish boats. This boat sank during a test run in Kiel harbor in 1851. It was raised and restored in 1887.
